Bed Bath and Beyond Recalls Thousands of Comforters Due to Mold Risk

This isn’t very comforting news. Bed Bath & Beyond is recalling 175,000 comforters due to mold risk, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The voluntary recall affects Hudson by UGG comforters, which were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and online at www.bedbathandbeyond.com from August 2017 through October 2017. The comforters came in four different solid colors — garnet, navy, gray, and oatmeal — and in three sizes: twin, full/queen, and king. They ranged in price from approximately $70 to $110, depending on the size of bed they covered.

Experts are warning that the hazardous mold possibly present in these comforters can pose a risk of respiratory or other types of infections in people who have compromised immune systems, damaged lungs, or an allergy to mold. Yikes! Definitely not something we want anywhere near us or our loved ones — especially as we all try to have a good night’s rest in our beds.

Now, the CPSC is urging consumers who bought the recalled products to immediately stop using them and return them to Bed Bath & Beyond for a full refund. Customers with additional comments or concerns are encouraged to contact the store by calling 800-462-3966 or visiting the company’s website and clicking on “Product Recall Information” at the bottom of the page.

So far, no illnesses or incidents have been reported because of these comforters, so let’s all do our part to keep that from happening. Tell everyone you know, and help keep all our loved ones safe!
