Teeny-Tiny Vacuums That Keep Your Desk Crumb-Free Exist and We Can’t Get Over How Cute They Are

Tags:

It’s an undeniable fact that our desks are basically our second homes. And just like our living spaces, we often get too bogged down with day-to-day tasks to actually keep them spruced up. Not to worry, though, as there’s a surprising tool to keep your desk just a bit neater. Enter the desk vacuum. That’s right, there’s a miniature version of the loud house appliance we’ve all come to rely on, and it’s both the cutest and most practical thing we’ve ever seen!

It’s not clear where the tiny desk vacuums first came from, though they’ve certainly caught on in recent years. And with their soaring popularity, the varieties have also exploded. Many desk vacuums are modeled after the cute-as-a-button lifestyle vacuum, Henry ($19.98, Amazon), from the United Kingdom brand, Numatic — and while the company doesn’t make the desktop vacuum cleaner model, it’s clear where the inspiration for it comes from. But besides Henry the desktop vacuum, the tiny cleaning appliances are available in a number of shapes and sizes. Online retailers sell them in a variety of heart-clutchingly cute models: some in the shape of mushrooms or ladybugs ($9.90, Amazon), some in Star Wars characters ($22.99, Amazon), and many more.

If your desk is already spotless, desk vacuums also make great gifts as they are tiny and inexpensive but useful. Best of all, it isn’t an exclusive for-those-in-the-know type of thing. In fact, there are many available at popular office supplies stores and online. You’ll probably find the desk vacuum world has nearly as many options as the full-sized ones. Some of the tabletop vacuums come with attachments, like Henry’s detachable hoses, while others are modified to specifically target your computer’s keyboard, like the Ogrmar ($12.18, Amazon). Each comes with different levels of suction and power, though this varies from brand to brand. But the small appliances do have one limitation: their power source options. The small desktop vacuum robots come in two power sources: the ones that rely on your computer’s USB port for power and others that are wireless and battery powered. Choose the one that fits your desk life, preferably one with a fairly powerful motor and an easy-to-access dust chamber.

We’re sure this tiny desktop accessory has found a place in your heart, so why not find a place for it next to your monitor and coffee mug? After all, the help of an adorable, budget-friendly desk vacuum cleaner might be all you need to turn a crumb-filled, debris-ridden desk into a distant memory. Now, if we could only figure out a filing system that actually works…
