Céline Dion Opens Up About Whether She Would Ever Consider Marriage Again
Céline Dion is a powerhouse performer who continues to pack stadiums full of fans. She’s currently on the road for her Courage tour — which will continue through 2020 with shows across North America, the Middle East, and Europe — but decided to make a pit stop along the way to answer a few questions on Andy Cohen’s Bravo series Watch What Happens Live.
During each episode of the talk show, Cohen takes calls from fans watching at home (once he’s done grilling his famous guests himself). The songstress has never been one to shy away from telling people exactly how she feels, even when the subject hits close to home. So, when a caller rang in wondering whether Dion would ever consider marrying again and if she is currently dating someone, she was quick to open up with a heartfelt answer about her late husband, René Angélil, who passed away in 2016. That is, after she playfully chided the caller for asking two questions. “You’re supposed to ask one question, Justin,” she joked.
But in all seriousness, Dion admitted that she is not currently dating anyone despite recent rumors about her and her close friend, Pepe Muñoz. “It doesn’t mean I will not find someone in my life,” she admitted. “If I do, that would be great. If I don’t, that would be great, because I am still in love.” Dion was of course referring to Angélil, who she also shared three sons with (René-Charles, 18, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 9). “One you’re in love so much,” she added before pausing. “I’ve been with René all my life. He’s still within me, I see him through the eyes of my children every day.”
Dion reiterated that she isn’t against the idea of being in a new relationship, but that it’s just not something she’s seeking out right now. And, if or when it does happen, she’ll be the first to let us all know. “If I had someone, I would tell you because I’ve always been an open book.” That level of honesty is just another one of the many amazing reasons we’ve always loved the talented singer!
