Celebrities, even when they’re just laying around at home like the rest of us, seem to always look like they’re about to be on camera. But luckily for us, stars like Drew Barrymore let us in on some of their favorite beauty hacks and secrets on social media. And to our surprise, being fabulous is not always as complicated — or expensive — as it looks.
The actress took to Instagram on August 12 to share a gorgeous make-up free selfie, confessing that there’s a set of beauty products she is now “obsessed with.” Apparently, Barrymore’s beautiful, natural tresses are all thanks a drugstore shampoo and conditioner set — the Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo and Conditioner in Legendary Olive ($22, Amazon).
Barrymore captioned the photo, “#BEAUTYJUNKIEWEEK unsolicited advice always @garnierusa, HOLY COW THIS IS THE BEST SHAMPOO I am obsessed. I got this because my daughters name is Olive. And it turns out that I am in love. And at around 5 ish dollars a bottle, well, I love that tooooooooo!!!! It’s also basically sold everywhere, so it’s easy to get. This is my hair straight out of shower with zero product or fuss. And I am very happy with the results. It also comes in massive amounts of scents.”
It’s made with cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil formulated to revive dull, dry tresses. It’s paraben and silicone free, and contains a high concentration of the antioxidant oleuropein, which naturally hydrates and strengthens your strands, protecting them from damage. The no weigh-down promise is that you can use this shampoo and conditioner daily without that greasy, heavy feeling. If you’re not buying it online, check your local drugstore! According to Barrymore, this stuff is pretty much sold everywhere, and she can hop right out of the shower after using it and show off her gorgeous locks — no extra primping required.
There’s nothing we love more than an affordable beauty tip from a celebrity who clearly knows what she’s talking about. We’ll be keeping tabs on Barrymore’s Instagram for more tips and tricks on how she maintains her red carpet look, even in the midst of a. pandemic. Stay tuned!
