16 Photos of Celebrity Parents Trick-or-Treating With Their Kids

Family trick-or-treating is by far one of the best parts of celebrating Halloween. But what makes this tradition even more fun? Cute and funny family-themed costumes, of course! Celebrity parents like Mariah Carey and Jennifer Garner understand this just as well as we do. Luckily for us, these stars are not afraid to flaunt their own trick-or-treat costumes while taking their kids on an adorable hunt for Halloween candy.

Over the years, plenty of celebs have been photographed walking with their kids as they collected candy, but there’s one trick-or-treat sighting that slipped through the cracks — Tom Hanks, Sean Penn, and Arnold Schwarzenegger! Back in the 1990s, these three famous men all happened to be in Washington, D.C. at the same exact time on Halloween. And of course, they all had their families with them.

“We were in Washington, DC on Halloween,” Tom Hanks recounted in a 2013 interview with E! Online. “It just so happened Arnold Schwarzenegger was in town doing True Lies… So me and my kids, Sean and Robin [Wright], and Arnold and his kids went out trick-or-treating together, in Georgetown.”

The beloved actor joked: “If anyone was to come out of their house to see who’s on the sidewalk, they’re going to win the celebrity lottery here. Arnold was saying to us, ‘Come on, hurry up, you snooze you lose, get up there with your candy!'”

Now that’s one experience we would’ve paid a whole lot of money to see! Unfortunately, Hanks didn’t mention whether the adults dressed up in great costumes — but we have a fun mental image of the trio decked out in superhero getups while being accompanied by their little sidekick trick-or-treaters. We can only imagine the shock and awe other parents must have felt as they walked by the stars on the street (assuming they even noticed!).
