Martha Stewart Swears By This $18 Collagen-Infused Mask to Nix Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Every morning, she starts her day like this.

Based on the pool selfie she posted back in 2020, it’s clear that Martha Stewart, 79, prioritizes taking care of her skin. Surely, we thought, she uses some expensive brands and products the rest of us couldn’t get our hands on. To our surprise, however, the goddess of all things home improvement recently gave some insight into how she achieves her timeless glow, and it turns out, some of her favorite products are so affordable, you’ll want to add them to your cart ASAP.

On her website Marthastewart.com, Stewart details her skincare routine from morning to night, talking about all of her favorite products and the order in which she uses them. Specifically, she shares that she is a huge fan of the Mario Badescu skincare line, and that she uses several products from the line every day, beginning in the wee hours of the morning.

Stewart doesn’t start the day the way the rest of us do. First of all, she wakes up at 5 a.m., then slathers on her first skincare product: Mario Badescu’s Super Collagen Mask (Buy on Amazon, $18). As its name states, this mask is infused with collagen, which is the building-block protein in our skin. Collagen helps to tighten and firm up the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The other active ingredient in this mask is kaolin clay, which gently clarifies and cleanses the skin, minimizing the appearance of pores without over-drying. Finally, this mask contains oatmeal, which helps calm the skin, reducing redness and inflammation.

Stewart lets the mask sit on her face for 30 minutes allowing it to soak into her skin until the end of her morning shower. She then rinses it off with warm water, and follows up with a hydrating serum and moisturizer with spf before heading out the door.

Amazon users agree that this product is truly a miracle worker when it comes to signs of aging. One person reviewed it saying, “I can’t really explain it but it honestly gave my skin a nicer texture — firmer and even the color was more even. I am 60+ and pretty much only use moisturizers. It was very easy to use as well. I really liked the way my skin looked after rinsing it off and I was happily impressed. And yes, so reasonably priced.” We do love that $18 price tag!

Stewart made sure to emphasize, of course, that skincare isn’t all about the products. She says that even though effective formulas are integral to her routine, nutrition and hydration play a role that’s just as important. On that note, she drinks a glass of water as soon as she rises in the morning, and makes an effort to remain hydrated throughout the day. She also sips a daily green juice made with vegetables that make for healthy skin.

We think we’ll take it from Martha Stewart — a mask in the morning might be just the way to start the day and give our skin that dewy, glowy look. Hey, a little luxury never hurt anyone!
