Helen Mirren’s Easy Makeup Trick Keeps Her Stunning At 74

At age 74, Helen Mirren continues to have one of the most impressive careers in Hollywood. Not only has the legendary actress starred in countless TV shows and movies, she’s also captivated the world with her timeless beauty well into her golden years. It’s no wonder that people are curious about Helen Mirren’s makeup tips.

Luckily for all of us, the superstar is happy to walk fans through her beauty routine. In an interview with Good Housekeeping UK, Helen revealed her most vital makeup tip: “Always look at yourself from a distance and keep referring to the distance that most people would be looking at you because sometimes you can get too obsessed with the detail when you look too close.” (Who hasn’t caught themselves doing that in the mirror at least once before?)

Calling herself a “makeup-ista” instead of a fashionista, Helen loves doing her own makeup in front of her blow-up mirror. While she doesn’t like to overdo it, she is especially fond of playing up her eye makeup. “Mascara is every woman’s best friend,” she said.

Considering that Helen is a L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador for Age Perfect Golden Age products, it’s no surprise that she has some valuable insights about celebrating your beauty at every age. In fact, she even spoke out against the term “anti-aging” in an interview with Allure. “We know we’re getting older,” she told the magazine. “You just want to look and feel as great as you can on a daily basis.”

Isn’t it wonderful to know that someone as stunning as Helen Mirren has such a refreshing outlook? Between her stress-free beauty strategy and her 12-minute exercise routine, it’s no wonder she continues to shine on and off the red carpet.

We’d all do well to follow her example — no matter how many years we have under our belts!
