While everyone else was busy marveling over the jaw-dropping ensembles to hit the red carpet at the 2020 Grammys, our eyes were glued to Gwen Stefani’s hair. The No Doubt frontwoman showed off über-long, sleek locks that had her channeling Rapunzel. Little did we know that her shiny, glossy, lustrous mane came courtesy of a $6 drugstore shampoo we’ve clearly been missing out on: Suave Professionals keratin-infusion smoothing shampoo ($5.74, Walmart).

The “Hollaback Girl”’s hairstylist, Danilo, prepped her hair with the low-sulfate formula to get the desired effect for the evening. “‘Gilded tresses’ and ‘sleek chic’ are the vibes I had in mind for this look,” he told Woman’s World via a press release. “Effortless glam that is polished and perfected.”

To achieve his vision, Danilo first washed Stefani’s strands with the affordable, pH-balanced cleanser, which is formulated with structural protein keratin that gets infused into hair fibers when washing. The result is smooth, frizz-free locks that will last for up to 48 hours straight.

Reviewers are certainly impressed by this shampoo’s power, with one writing, “I am a woman color and at times experience unruly hair. I often battle the frizzies, really dry, or [a] dull-looking mane. …  The keratin ingredient in these products caught my eye, so I figured I’d try these out. These products tame my hair, leave it silky and smooth, make it manageable and easy to comb through, add bounce … shine, and leaves my hair smelling great. NO KIDDING.”

Added another, “It makes my hair smooth, soft, and healthy looking. As an added bonus this product smells fantastic!”

Danilo followed Stefani’s shampoo up with an even more affordable conditioner: the brand’s own Damage Repair coconut-oil infusion ($2.94, Walmart), which features moisturizing coconut oil to repair without weighing hair down.

To top things off, he employed Suave’s Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream (from $5.88, Walmart), which includes silk protein and vitamin E to tame flyaways, before blow-drying with a bristle brush ($4.99, Amazon) and flat-ironing out any kinks. A spritz of Suave Professionals’ Flexible Control hairspray ($2.94, Walmart) finished off her effortless look.

The rest, of course, is red carpet history: No wonder boyfriend Blake Shelton couldn’t take his eyes off of her!
