Huge Blackheads Being Extracted From an Ear Are So Oddly Captivating
If you love a good blackhead removal video, then you’re in for a treat.
A spa in China posted a video on YouTube of a doctor removing multiple blackheads from a patient’s ear. The best (or worst, depending on whether or not this is your sort of thing) part is watching the doctor expertly remove all the built-up sebum. While the doc works patiently to clean out the gunk that’s burrowed in the ear, the viewer’s emotions span the gamut. Bewilderment, disgust, anger, and horror all play out, accompanied by soothing spa music.

The removal video first appeared on the subreddit “Popping,” which is dedicated to videos and pictures of anything and everything gross that you might ever need to pop or remove. The reddit poster TychaBrahe wrote, “I never knew blackheads like this developed in ears until I saw the first of these. Now, I don’t know what is more disturbing, that they exist or that they are CONNECTED.”
Watching the doctor casually push the build-up from one opening to the other was indeed a very disturbing aspect of the video. It was also astounding to see just how much was taken out of the patient’s ear. Let this be a lesson to all that ears — like your face — have pores, and they can get clogged.

Perhaps more cringeworthy than watching the chunk of sebum get pushed from hole to hole was the fact that the doctor placed all the bits he or she had removed back on the ear. The least they could have done was move those nasty bits to a paper towel. Jeez!
