Cutting One Food Worked Wonders for Her Adult Acne

Adult acne has been estimated to affect anywhere from 40 to 55 percent of the adult population aged 20 to 40. Understandably, not a lot of people want to talk about adult acne, especially since it’s usually seen as an embarrassing problem that affects teens. But now, one woman is bravely speaking out about her experience with adult acne—and more importantly, how she’s treating it.

Rachel Crawley was bullied growing up and she never wanted anyone to see her without makeup. But now, at age 22, she wants everyone to see her breakouts and scars, and how she’s clearing them up. Amazingly enough, she found that the most effective way to clear them up was by changing the way she was eating.

Crawley began to experiment by cutting certain foods out of her diet. And by doing so, she discovered that sugar was the main culprit behind her horrible breakouts. She began to eliminate foods with sugar and also upped her fat intake with healthy fats, and started seeing incredible results in a matter of days. Her 7-week progress picture pretty much speaks for itself.

✨7 WEEKS PROGRESS PICTURE ✨The picture on the left was when my skin was at its worst. My acne was cystic, red, sore and I had bumps underneath my skin. I felt like I wanted to give up at this point. I then decided to give my diet one last change before I would have seen a dermatologist. I took pictures of my skin so I could see the results as to whether what I was doing was working or not and I started seeing the difference day by day. I wanted to share with you the realism of what people go through. Unfortunately acne isn't seen as normal and is thought as 'ugly' but it's something so many of us experience. It's nothing to be ashamed of. What is to be ashamed of is the perception of what we are supposed to look like. The picture on the right is my skin today! My scars are being treated with natural skincare products that I have found work my skin and I do want to avoid having any treatments to get rid of them. They need time to heal and I'm okay with that. Whatever journey your on to clear you skin don't give up on yourself. Now, Crawley suspects that a vegan diet might be the best one for her skin. Ever since she made the discovery about sugar affecting her skin so much, she’s been piling her plates with plenty of vegetables. But don’t worry, even though she’s cut the sugar out, she still gets to treat herself with delicious goodies like raw cacao and peanut butter bites.

This is my skin currently with out face makeup. No edit. No filter. As you can see my scars are fading away! 👏🏻 For my scars I have been using the banish kit by @banishacnescars. (derma roller) I use it once every 2 weeks and in total I have used it 5 times in the space of 10 weeks. I am now seeing the results and this tool makes all the difference. It works to revitalise, brighten, and retexture your skins surface. It is only recommended to use on scars and not on active acne as rolling over active acne will cause bacteria to spread. What makes the banisher so affective is it works to rebuild collagen fibers beneath your skin. Whereas other skin treatments only work on the top layer. By rolling the needle into your skin it creates tiny punctures to stimulate skin repair and cell regeneration.  When the body sustains an injury or wound, it heals  itself by creating new collagen. After a banish session I use 3-4 drops of the banish oil which contains Vitamin C. A nutrient for your body that is vital to skin and overall health. @banishwarriors TIP: Don't forget to make sure your including Vitamin C in your diet everyday 🙋🏼Food sources of vitamin C are kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts, strawberries, grapefruit and kiwi. Vitamin C is used by your skin to create elastin and collagen. This leads to better looking skin.
