Watermelon Lowers Cholesterol

In a study in the journal Nutrition Research, animals on a high-fat diet who were fed watermelon had 63 percent lower cholesterol levels after 30 days than those not given the fruit. Credit goes to enzymes in watermelon that prevent cholesterol buildup. Bonus: The watermelon group had 39 percent lower levels of a marker of inflammation.
