Run, Don’t Walk: Target Now Sells $5 Wine and It’s Delicious

Target? Amazing. Cheap, tasty wine? Incredible. Put them together? Take my money! Those of us with a Target shopping habit have another reason to hit the store. Target is carrying a new brand of wine on its shelves, and the price tag ($5!) is unbeatable. And the best part? The wine is delicious.

The wine line is called California Roots, and it comes in five of our favorite varieties:

Chardonnay: Lush tropical fruit flavors and a bright finish

Pinot Grigio: Vibrant citrus and tropical fruit flavors

Moscato: Delicate aromas and creamy peach and melon flavors

Cabernet Sauvignon: Juicy cherry flavors, hints of oak and graceful finish

Red Blend: Smooth berry and cherry flavors

California Roots is made with call California-grown grapes and joins the growing selection of Target wine, including the popular wine cube.

According to a press release, Target launched this line to create “something new and special” for customers. “We’re introducing a new line of wines with profiles — and prices — that’ll have you sipping for joy,” Target stated in a press release.

The release also suggests food pairings of each wine, including fresh berries with moscato and ribeye steak with Cabernet Sauvignon. As we all know, nothing complements dinner like a good (and cheap) glass of wine.

“We’re out to give our guests even more reasons to love Target — including exclusive products they can’t find anywhere else,” said Jeff Burt, senior vice president of food and beverage in the press release. “And we think they’re going to love California Roots — these wines are just the right blend of incredible quality and amazing value that guests can expect at Target.”

More than 1,100 stores nationwide carry the wine, and we can’t wait to get our hands on one (or all five.)
