Roseanne Barr is showing off dramatic weight loss these days, and it has us taking notice. While the actress has struggled on and off with her weight for years, it seems like she’s finally come to a healthy, happy place with her body. We’re so proud of you, Roseanne!
It’s certainly been a long journey for Roseanne’s dramatic weight transformation. Remember her back in the late ’80s and early ’90s, when she and the rest of the cast of Roseanne lit up our TV screens each week? She was noticeably heavier then, and admittedly didn’t have the best eating or lifestyle habits.

But now, Roseanne is looking remarkably svelte! In 1998, she underwent gastric bypass surgery in which part of her digestive system was removed, which led to a rapid slimming down. But, like most people who opt for weight loss surgery, Roseanne had to spend the years after the procedure follow it up with good old-fashioned hard work to maintain the trimmed down look.
“I’m just doing the things you’re supposed to do,” she said to US Weekly in 2014. “You know, moving more, and eating less.” Sounds like winning–not to mention simple–weight loss plan to us! But that’s just why Roseanne Barr’s fans love her, isn’t it? She always tells it like it is, and keeps things very real.
While we’re so happy for Roseanne, who’s obviously in a healthy place physically, we can’t help but stare at her photos in wonderment. Throughout all her weight ups and downs, these newly surfaced pics just might be our favorites.
