Lisa Rinna’s Secrets for Looking and Feeling Great at 55

Daytime Emmy–nominated actress, designer, wife, and mom, Lisa Rinna, 55, shares her tips for taking on each day with a healthy body and a happy heart!

As the golden sun streams into her California home each morning, Lisa Rinna sits quietly in bed, praying and meditating for a few minutes before heading to her kitchen. “If I start my day in a positive, grateful way, it always goes better,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star smiles as she sips a tall glass of lemon water. “It sets me on a joyful path and brings such peace to face whatever challenges the day brings.”

As a busy mother of three, wife and entrepreneur, the Days of Our Lives alumna says her upbeat outlook and deep sense of peace has been won through cultivating moments of stillness and learning to let go of worry. “Over the last decade, I’ve learned not to take things too seriously and find the humor in everything,” Lisa explains. “I’m more comfortable in my skin, less stressed and more joyful than ever, and it makes me excited for what comes next!” Here, her tips for nurturing your body, mind and spirit.

Soothes the Soul — Finding a Silver Lining

“I wish I could say it’s gotten easier to overcome the challenges that life throws my way, but unfortunately… it hasn’t,” Lisa admits with a chuckle. 

“Challenges are just that: They’re difficult! But I will say that I get through them much quicker now. In the last 10 years, I’ve learned to let go of hurt, focus on the positive, and find a way to move forward. Most of the time, there’s a silver lining in whatever challenge we are facing. And if I concentrate on what God puts in front of me and allow that to lead me down the right path, everything turns out okay!”

Secret Weapon — Celery Juice

“I follow the advice of Medical Medium Anthony William and drink detoxifying celery juice every morning,” says Lisa. “It makes me feel so amazing!”

Melts a Menopot — Gentle exercise

“I can’t do rigorous exercise like I used to because my body doesn’t really allow me to do it anymore,” Lisa shares. “So I’ve been getting into easier types of exercise, like gentle forms of yoga. My body absolutely loves yoga! It helps me stay trim and also reduces stress. Activities like hiking and walking my dogs can also help me reach a happy, healthy balance in my routine. I’ve also been doing Pilates lately, which helps with my posture. But of course, it’s all about finding what works best for your body and what strikes that happy-healthy balance for you!”

Brightens the Day — Being in the Moment

“For me, so much relaxation happens just by being in the moment,” says Lisa. “I’m always on the go, so when I just want to veg out and rejuvenate, there’s nothing better than an old movie — especially something with Marilyn Monroe or Carey Grant! I’ll turn on Turner Classic Movies and put aside my phone to be present and enjoy the story. Being out in nature is great for that too. I’ll sit and listen to what’s going on outside our home. Whether it’s birds singing or flowers blooming, that always brings me so much peace.”

Boosts Energy — Vitamins and Supplements

“My doctor suggests different herbs to keep my body in check,” Lisa notes. “He’ll put me on things for my adrenals, which get fatigued easily, but I also focus on getting in my daily vitamins. I take a multivitamin, B-12, vitamin C, calcium and magnesium. I also take 5,000 IUs of vitamin D every day since my doctor is big on its healthy antioxidants and ability to lower the risk of breast cancer. This combo makes me feel so energized!” 

Bonus: Recent studies have shown that women who took 2,000 IUs of vitamin D daily lost 52 percent more weight!
