Who can’t relate to Kirstie Alley and her weight? When the curvy actress made her debut on Cheers in 1987, she quickly wowed audiences with her sense of humor and acting chops. During the late 80s and early 90s, her sense of style and svelte figure were on display on red carpets and she was nominated for Golden Globes and Emmys for years.
Then she began to pack on the pounds. During the late 90s, Alley was caught on camera looking heftier, hiding her more voluptuous figure in looser clothing. Then months later, the pictures would show her looking like her skinnier self.
These yo-yo weight gains and losses went on for years. In the mid-2000s though she started following the Jenny Craig plan. Alley even became a spokesperson for the company after she lost 100 pounds. She proudly showed off her new bod during the 2011 season of Dancing With Stars.
But then it was back on the roller-coaster. Before Alley could go back on Jenny Craig, she’d regained 30 pounds. But she swore that this time, her weight loss was going to be different. This time she was actually going to listen to the Jenny Craig consultants, she told Us Magazine.
Now she’s 50 pounds lighter, and she vows to stay that way. She’s confessed that she’s more disciplined now. She’s even staying away from her three triggers–pasta, cheese, and sugar–she recently told People magazine.
