Rest in peace, Chris Cattrall. Kim Cattrall took to social media on Sunday, February 4, to sadly reveal her brother, Chris, has died just days after he was reported missing. “It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall. At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time,” the 61-year-old actress captioned a photo of herself and Chris on Instagram.
Following the unfortunate news, many of Kim’s 439,000 Instagram followers sent their condolences to the Sex and the City star. “So very sorry for your loss,” one person wrote. “This is so terrible. I am deeply sorry and I hope you find comfort in your loved ones at this time,” another fan added.
Just hours before Kim revealed Chris had passed away, the actress asked her social media followers for help locating her brother after he went missing. “MISSING! This is my brother Christopher Cattrall or Chris, as we call him. He has been missing since Tuesday, January 30, from his home in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. His keys, cell phone, and wallet [were] left on the table and his front door [was] unlocked. This is not like Chris,” Kim captioned a photo of Chris on Instagram.
“He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his seven beloved dogs. Chris is 55 years old, six feet tall, 200 pounds, [has] blue eyes, short brown hair, [a] goatee, [is of] average build, and [is] usually wearing a waist-length hooded winter coat with black gloves, blue jeans, and calf-high black winter boots,” she continued. “He’s a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world. Many thanks for reading this, Kim.” Our thoughts are with Kim and her family during this difficult time.
