Mom Says There’s ‘Something Wrong’ With Parents Who Criticize Her for Buying Daughter Skimpy Outfits

As parents, we’ll do whatever we can to help our children succeed, but for single mom Jenna Eastland, that means buying tanning products, makeup, and barely there clothing for her seven-year-old daughter — all because little Layla’s dream is to become famous.

The British mom has come under fire for photos of Layla that show the child in skin-bearing outfits, complete with hair extensions and heavy makeup.

“She’s not a normal seven-year-old,” Eastland said, according to the Daily Mail. “She would be a great reality TV star.”

The seven-year-old is, apparently, “bored of real life” and loves the glitz and glamor of the pageants and dance competitions in which she often competes.

According to Eastland, Layla “has the mind set of an adult” and has worn makeup since she was only a year old.

“Layla’s got a six-pack so she loves wearing belly tops and shorts,” Jenna said. “I guess people might think it’s too young, but it’s just Layla. I get abuse all the time saying I’m sexualizing her, but I think that if people think that then there’s something sadly wrong with them even thinking that about a kid.”

Eastland, who received benefits for staying at home to care for her other two children — one of whom has autism — doesn’t see what all the fuss is about because, according to her, Layla has always been this way.

“This is who Layla is, and I don’t think it will ever change. She was born to be something special,” said Eastland.

The tyke is already modifying her eating habits; now she only eats egg whites instead of the entire egg, and she enjoys yoga and iced tea.

What do you think about this situation? Is Eastland just letting Layla do what makes her happy, or is this totally inappropriate?
