Jada Pinkett Smith Looks Half Her Age Thanks to a $5 Drugstore Product

Everyone’s Googling Jada Pinkett Smith and her skincare routine. It’s not hard to see why. The 47-year-old could pass for a twenty-something thanks to her flawless, wrinkle-free skin. Of course, achieving perfect skin like hers is expensive, right? Wrong!

Lucky for us, one of Pinkett Smith’s favorite skincare products is available at drugstores for less than $10. The actress shared her love for Clean & Clear Essentials Oil-Free Deep Cleaning Astringent (Buy at Walmart, $4.47) during an episode of her Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk, raving “It’s one of my favorite products. It is brilliant…It pulls all the stuff out, and it closes the pores as well. It’s awesome.”

And Pinkett Smith isn’t the only one signing the product’s praises. “I really love this product, I used to buy another brand and it was like years until I saw effects but when I used Clean & Clear astringent, I really saw the difference,” one ecstatic buyer wrote. “It is the best product for my skin I’ve found. It takes all the oil from my face and also the [dead] skin. When I have a big pimple in the morning I use it and by the end of the day is really small, I just love it.

If you have oily skin, you may be well aware of what astringents are and what they’re supposed to do for the skin. But for those who are unfamiliar with this skincare product, it’s worth learning more about this pore-shrinking, skin-tightening liquid. Astringents remove oil and grime that clog pores, which helps keep skin clean and prevents breakouts. They’re also known to shrink pores and tighten skin, giving the skin a smoother appearance. However, astringents may dry out your skin, so it’s important to follow them with a hydrating moisturizer to prevent flaky, dry patches.

Another product Pinkett Smith loves that’s decidedly more pricey is Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Hyaluronic Ampoules ($215, Nordstrom). Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, meaning it helps the body retain moisture, leading to plump, hydrated skin. “Your face will radiate like you just got off a two-week spa vacation,” Pinkett Smith wrote in her review of the product.

While $215 is a hefty price tag for a beauty product, it’s hard to argue with her drugstore pick. At less than $5, you really have nothing to lose in picking it up the next time you’re at the store.
