Gwyneth Paltrow Just Designed the Sperry Boots of Your Dreams
Having a good pair of winter boots on hand is essential once temperatures begin to drop, and duck boots are right up there with the best of them. There’s just one teensy, tiny little problem — they’re not exactly crafted for style. Or, at least, they weren’t… until Gwyneth Paltrow got her hands on them! The Goop founder has teamed up with footwear company Sperry to create a tall leather lace-up version in black ($180, Sperry) and navy ($180, Sperry) that will not only keep your feet nice and toasty this winter, but are as fashionable as they come.
Goop x Sperry’s newly-released footwear affords all of the same functional aspects that make duck boots so great for trekking around in the great outdoors, but elevates them to the fullest with tons of aesthetically-pleasing details that practically scream “luxury.”

Though both pairs still feature galosh-like waterproof bottoms that will keep feet your dry and a flexible leather upper that allows the wearer to move about with ease — a combination which was created by Leon Leonwood Bean (the founder of L.L. Bean) in 1911 in an effort to keep his feet from becoming wet and cold while hunting — you’ll notice plenty of contemporary twists that set them apart from the pack.
The black pair has a plush faux fur top collar that will prevent any heat from escaping your shoe, and just looks fabulous. And in place of Sperry’s standard ring-like eyelets is antique, rust-proof hardware that serves to lend plenty of intrigue. A microfleece lining has been added for warmth, and the buttery, waterproof full-grain leather looks soft enough to make you want to run your hand over it.
The navy version, meanwhile, has a knit top collar, which was designed to look like a varsity jacket, a suede-like leather upper, and cozy microfleece lining.
“Here, we took the classic Sperry boot, a piece of footwear synonymous with snowy winters back East, and added a few modern yet timeless twists,” Paltrow, 47, said in a press release. “Sperry has a cult following, and we consider ourselves fortunate to tap into it, bringing that authentic, utilitarian aesthetic to a wider audience with the goop x Sperry collaboration.’
Top these boots off with Sperry’s signature non-marking, non-skid outsoles upon which the brand was built, and you’ve got yourself the perfect footwear with superior traction for even the rainiest or snowiest of conditions.
