This Chewable Coffee Is a Lifesaver for Busy Mornings

Tags:

Ever have a morning so busy you didn’t have time to brew yourself some coffee? Or an afternoon so jam-packed you couldn’t swing by a café? If you’re anything like me, those are the times you need caffeine the most. Enter Go Cubes: the chewable coffee designed to be a lifesaver on days that are too hectic for a cup.

Launched by the start-up Nootrobox, Go Cubes are essentially coffee gummies packed with real caffeine and rich flavor. Sold in sets of six packs of four cubes, each cube has 50mg of caffeine, or about a half a cup  — and you don’t even have to worry about spilling anything down your shirt! Go Cubes come in latte, mocha, and pure drip flavors. Since I’m a latte girl at heart, I knew I had to try those first.

When I first took a close-up look at the latte cubes ($15, Amazon), I have to confess I was a bit skeptical. How could so much caffeine be packed into such tiny gummies? Furthermore, how could any gummy take on the flavor of a latte? But after i popped it in my mouth, I was pleasantly surprised. The gummy was sweet without being too sweet, and full of just enough espresso flavor to remind me of my favorite morning beverage.

It didn’t take long for the chewable coffee to start working its magic, waking me up from a night of too-little sleep. Pro tip: Make sure you have water nearby before you start chewing your cubes. Like any gummies, you definitely don’t want to eat these while you’re dehydrated. Plus, it’s always good to make sure you’re drinking enough water each day anyway.

The mocha cubes ($15, Amazon) are also quite tasty, but a bit richer and more intense than the latte cubes. While the pure drip cubes ($15, Amazon) were a bit too bitter for me, they’d probably be perfect for someone who takes their coffee black with a bit of sugar — and absolutely no cream. You can also buy a larger pack of assorted-flavors ($39, Amazon) to try all three! If you’re feeling generous, share some with a couple of your super-busy friends — then promise to catch up over real coffee soon!
