Dairy Queen Answers Our Prayers With New Mint Oreo Blizzard

Tags:

The McDonald’s Shamrock Shake has long been king of St. Patrick’s Day-inspired sweets, but is Dairy Queen ready to take back its crown? Judging by DQ’s latest Blizzard of the Month, we can’t help but think we will soon have a very minty competition on our hands.

Dairy Queen just announced its new limited-time Mint Oreo Blizzard. Available only through March at participating DQ locations, this decadent-sounding delight features a minty fresh flavor and several generous pieces of Oreos. Oh, and it also boasts a bright green color. We have to admit that it came at the perfect time, considering St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner on March 17.

Then again, we’re so used to drinking the Shamrock Shake around this time of year. Although some people have strong opinions about the Shamrock Shake, it’s hard to deny that it’s a classic fast-food seasonal treat. (And it could definitely become a year-round staple for anyone with a serious sweet tooth.) So could this Mint Oreo Blizzard, as tasty as it sounds, really replace it?

Judging by DQ’s promotion, it sounds like it’s pretty darn confident it’ll win its customers over with this new icy, creamy goodness.

On DQ’s social media pages, the company wrote, “No other mint treat compares to the Mint @Oreo BLIZZARD of the Month. Get your own and taste the truth for yourself.”

Whoa! “No other mint treat compares?” Those are some bold words, especially since McDonald’s just announced the return of its beloved (and famously minty) shake just days ago.

Well, now we pretty much have no choice but to go out and find out the “truth” for ourselves!
