Mother Nature can be a cruel, cruel beast, particularly in the dead of winter. From wreaking havoc on our skin, which can get incredibly dry, to our nails, which can get extremely brittle, nothing is safe from its clutches — not even our hair. Luckily, a little birdie (*cough, cough, Cindy Crawford*) has clued us into her secret for maintaining luscious, hydrated locks all season long: Ouai Rose Hair & Body Oil ($32, Sephora).

The supermodel revealed to CR Fashion Book that she uses the multitasking oil overnight. “I also love putting in a hair treatment before bed, so my hair gets a chance to rejuvenate as well.”

Formulated with rose hip oil (which can be used on skin to reduce the appearance of scars and redness), absinthium oil to rehydrate parched strands, and shea oil to add luster back into dull tresses, this formula from celebrity hair stylist Jen Atkin is a dream for all hair types, from those with straight or wavy hair to those with curly or even tightly-coiled coifs.

It absorbs quickly, adds shine, and locks in moisture for all-day protection. Plus, it’s got an indulgent rose scent that’s dotted with bergamot, lychee, cedarwood, and white musk. It’s also made without silicone, parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, or plasticizers.

Rose Oil

To use, add one to three drops to wet hair daily before air drying. If you’re more of a blowout gal, you can also add it to dry strands after your hair has been set.

Reviewers are definitely onboard with the runway strutter’s pick, praising this oil for its effectiveness.

“I’m always slightly skeptical when mainstream products say they will work on tightly coiled hair,” wrote one happy Sephora buyer. “Well, this one works! I love how it makes my ends and roots feel. My roots can get very parched and this did the trick. I also love that the oil absorbs rather quickly and leaves a slight shred but doesn’t look greasy.”

Added another: “I like to use a small amount and run it through the ends of my hair to help it remain soft and healthy, it gives a gorgeous healthy shine.”

It wasn’t the only beauty secret Crawford gave up to the publication, either: The mother of two says she entrusts her skin to a good dry brush and body oil.

“I’m a big fan of dry brushing,” she gushed. “My favorite brush is from Elemis [($45, Amazon], and I try to make the time to do that at least once a week before I shower. Then I use Neutrogena body oil [$9.99, Amazon] after I shower but before I towel off.”

Looks like there’ll be a whole lot of oil usage going on in our near future!
