Chrissy Teigen Leaves Outback Steakhouse Waitress a Huge Tip
They always say never meet your idols because they might be jerks, but sometimes they’re even better in person! Outback Steakhouse server Mikayla Scott learned that first-hand when none other than Chrissy Teigen came in to eat at the Centerville, Ohio location of the restaurant chain.
“She walked in with all her glam,” Mikayla explained to Dayton Daily News. “I was so nervous I was going to do something wrong.” But she didn’t do anything wrong. As a matter of fact, her service was so perfect that Chrissy left her a $1,000 tip!
“People kept saying you are going to get a fat tip,” she recalled. “I was like ‘Oh my god, praise the Lord [when I saw how much she left].'” Chrissy’s bill was only $193.81, so she tipped more than 500 percent! On top of leaving the huge bonus for the waitress, Mikayla says that Chrissy was the same sweet, silly star you see on social media. “You have to take this away from me,” the model told Mikayla about the Bloomin’ Onion she ordered. “I am going to eat it all!”
Along with the signature appetizer, Chrissy also ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, several other appetizers, and a crispy chicken sandwich. Mikayla said that Chrissy’s R&B singer hubby, John Legend, stopped by with his dad to pick up baby Luna to go meet some friends at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, another local eatery.
“It was an awesome experience,” Mikayla gushed about waiting on a celebrity. She says she’s going to use the money to fix her broken car, and give the rest to other servers at the restaurant. Talk about a chain reaction of good deeds!
