Fly to Europe for Less Than $150 on New Level Airlines
Have you always wanted to take a dream European vacation, but the ridiculously expensive plane tickets made you say no? Well, it’s time to pack your bags, because a new airline is selling tickets from the U.S. to Paris and Barcelona for only $149.
The flights to Paris Orly Airport are from Newark International Airport in New Jersey and cost $149. The flights back home are even cheaper — starting at $117. To get to Barcelona, you can fly from either Oakland or Los Angeles airports in California or from Logan International Airport in Boston for $149.
LEVEL is a new budget airline owned by the International Airlines Group, the same company that runs British Airways and Iberia. If you’re flying basic economy, the airline charges you for perks such as seat assignments, food, and checked bags. But if you splurge for premium economy, you can get these anemities for free. Travel and Leisure reports that passengers can use their loyalty points for other airlines owned by International Airlines Group.
On LEVEL’s booking website, it looks like the earliest available flights to Barcelona are in March 2018, and the earliest flights to Paris aren’t until September 2018, so you can purchase your tickets now and then have plenty of time to plan your trip.
Is the price worth it?
LEVEL began its service in Barcelona this past summer. On Trip Advisor, the airline has an average of 3.5 out of 5 stars. Some guests enjoyed their experience on the airline; one reviewer complimented the new plane, comfortable eats, and free in-flight entertainment. “I was very happy with the flight,” the reviewer writes. “Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Level.” Another Trip Advisor user says that upgrading to premium economy is worth the bang for your buck. The reviewer paid €79 (about $94) for premium economy on his or her flight home from Barcelona to Oakland, and says it was the best €79 he or she spent on the trip. “Service and amenities at the front of the cabin were very good,” the person wrote. “I will definitely fly LEVEL again if the price is right.”
Other reviewers, however, wrote that though LEVEL might not have been their worst travel experience ever, it is definitely a budget airline — so keep that in mind when setting your expectations.
But, hey, flights to Europe for $150? That’s a hard deal to beat!
