If you’ve ever dreamed of escaping to the mountains in a quaint village where you can have a fresh start, here’s your chance to make that dream a reality — and get paid for it. Yes, a small town in the Swiss Alps actually wants to pay you for living there.

The village of Albinen, located near Leukerbad in the canton of Valais, is voting on an initiative that will offer money to non-residents who choose to make it their home for at least 10 years. The newcomers will be paid 25,000 francs (approximately $25,200) per adult and 10,000 francs (approximately $10,000) per child.

As of right now, the village is so tiny that it only has 240 residents — and sadly, many folks have moved away from it in recent years. Considering how beautiful and clean Albinen is, we think it definitely deserves to be filled with some wonderful new residents.

Think one of those new residents should be you? There’s a few criteria you have to meet first. Other than agreeing to live in Albinen for at least 10 years, you must be younger than 45 years old. You also must choose a piece of property in the village with a value of at least 200,000 francs (approximately $201,600). This property must be your primary residence for the decade that you stay there.

Should you choose to move away before the 10 years is up, you’ll have to pay Albinen back for the investment. So it’s definitely a big commitment to make, but if you’re convinced you want to leave a hectic life of hustle and bustle behind, it seems like it’s one worth making.

Stay tuned for more info about applying when it comes out, and ten years tucked away in a beautiful Swiss village full of peace and quiet could be yours.
