Woman Gets Turned Down for Job in One Humiliating, Jaw-Dropping Text

View gallery

Anybody who’s been out looking for a job knows how frustrating it can be to get rejected. But it’s safe to say that most managers try to be professional about the way they turn down job applicants. That wasn’t Megan Dixon’s experience, though.

The British teen was applying for a waitressing job at a steak house. She got a text message asking her to come in for an interview that afternoon, which she did. After her interview, the assistant manager told her she’d hear back by email in a few days or so.

Imagine the 18-year-old’s surprise when she got a text message a couple of minutes later. But instead of good news, the assistant manager told Dixon she’d been turned down. When Dixon asked why, she got this jaw-dropping response.

The British teen was left fuming (with good reason). “I was shocked,” she said, calling the whole thing unprofessional. “At least she should have given me proper feedback.” But after being contacted by the British press, the restaurant said it was a mistake–the assistant manager thought she was sending the text to HER boss. Ooops!
