Starbucks Is Giving Away $1 Million in Gift Cards This Month

‘Tis the season to give, and give back, and Starbucks is doing just that. The coffee company is giving away $1 million in gift cards for the holidays.

Starbucks announced the gift giving plan on Instagram on Monday, December 4, and said it’s their biggest giveaway ever. The post says to look out for members of their “Good Squad” in communities and holiday events. Delish reports 50,000 baristas have gift cards worth $20 each to give away, though no word yet on exact locations will have the cards.

Along with decking the halls with gift cards galore, Starbucks is also bringing back its Starbucks for Life sweepstakes starting today. You can win coffee for a week, month, year, or even a lifetime by entering. Starbuck Rewards members can also complete “challenges” — such as naming your favorite barista and why you like them, doing an act of kindness, or buying coffee before 7 a.m. — to win free food and drinks.

Not a Rewards member? If you become one and use the app or card in December, you get automatically upgraded to “gold” status, which can get you free food and drinks.

If you’re trying to decide which delicious drink to indulge in, Starbucks released two new holiday drinks this season the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha and the Chestnut Praline Chai Tea Latte.

If regular mochas are a little too sweet, the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha might have just enough of the sweetness that you’re looking for, without going overboard. One of our editors said the drink “is a lighter, smoother mocha that has all the buttery sweetness of the traditional mochas, but you won’t get sick of it halfway through.” She also enjoyed the Chestnut Praline Chai Latte, which she said starts off sweet but gives a little kick because of the chai.

Sounds delicious!
