Scratch-and-Sniff Wallpaper Now Exists, And We Feel Like Kids Again
Whether you like it or not, wallpaper has made a bold comeback in the interior design scene as of late, and one business in particular is turning ordinary rooms into an iconic scene from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The Brooklyn-based company Flavor Paper released a line of eye-popping wallpapers that combine cutting edge designs with traditional screen-printing techniques. Recently, the playful range has taken over social media for one unique reason — the wallpaper smells just as good as it looks!

Similar to Willy Wonka’s lickable wallpaper creation (minus the saliva), Flavor Paper has introduced a line of scratch-and-sniff wallpaper. The permanent collection comes in three different prints — cherry, banana and citrus — that are available in a variety of colors.
The idea originally stemmed from Wonderland Beauty Parlour owner Michael Angelo, who was searching for interior inspiration and found an old book of scratch-and-sniff stickers from his high school years.
How does it work? To obtain scratch-and-sniff properties, every wallpaper includes water-based adhesives fitted with tiny capsules of fragrance oils. When you scratch the paper, the capsules pop and release a fruity smell. Unsurprisingly, the pop-art inspired wallpapers are proving to be increasingly popular. The sought-after designs are featured in hundreds of restaurants, stores, and homes throughout the country.
So, if you’re looking for a way to add life into your home we’ve got good news — Flavor Paper now ships nationwide. It’s time to get creative!
