As you may be aware, the famous Singapura cat breed takes the miniature crown for being the smallest in size among domestic cats. Friendly and affectionate, it’s no wonder why this adorable breed is rapidly increasing in popularity among cat owners all over the world. After all, what could be cuter than a cat that remains tiny even with age? It certainly doesn’t hurt that these particular felines are also hardy, fun, and playful to boot. But Singapuras aren’t the only kitties who get to play in the tiniest cat-friendly boxes.

From the American Curl cat that boasts signature curled ears to the wavy-coated Devon Rex, there are plenty of cat breeds out there that stay tiny. But we’ve decided to highlight the smallest of the small, to show that even mini kitties can have huge purr-sonalities. Weighing in at just four to seven pounds, this dynamic cat proves that big things come in incredibly small packages. According to Vet Street, the Singapura cat started out as nothing more than a humble street cat from Singapore. These days, the kitty's reputation could not be more different in the nation-state: Singapore now considers the Singapura a living national treasure. Extroverted, inquisitive, and super-smart, the Singapura certainly knows how to make an entrance in any room. Thanks to this breed's hardiness — possibly from its less-than-stellar roots — we can all appreciate everything these cats have to offer today.

As you might imagine, the Munchkin cat may call to mind the famous Wizard of Oz characters of the same name. According to Vet Street, a Munchkin cat has distinctive short legs that are the result of a natural genetic mutation — a similar situation to dog breeds like Corgis and Dachshunds. Weighing in at just five to nine pounds, these kitties can move pretty darn quickly despite their short legs. But if you have what it takes to keep up with them around the house, they just might be the perfect little darlings for you.

The Cornish Rex cat may not only look like a kitten, but might also act like a kitten with age, according to the Cat Fanciers' Association. People-oriented and affectionate, the Cornish Rex breed is quite active and agile despite a fragile appearance. According to Catster, the Cornish Rex typically weighs between six to 10 pounds and is very "leggy" — which probably helps when it comes to entertaining everyone in the home. One thing's for sure, this lithe and little feline is bound to charm anyone who's around. And considering how fast this kitty moves, you better be ready to pay attention!

Unlike some of the other smallest cat breeds, the Devon Rex breed is not necessarily one that is always in motion, according to Cat Time. Although these kitties — weighing in between five and 10 pounds — may not be super active, they greatly enjoy interactive games as well as company from their favorite people. Oh, and these felines also love to eat, so be careful not to overfeed them all in one sitting. Remember: They only have so much room in their little bodies to fit all of those delicious cat treats!
