12 Hilarious April Fools’ Day Pranks Your Grandkids Will Fall For

The best brownies ever (or should we say the best "brown e's"?).

Make a couple of "E" cutouts from brown construction paper and put them in a pan. After covering them up with foil paper, tell the grandkids you prepared some brownies for them. Their reaction will be priceless!

The yummy mashed potato sundae.

Have you even noticed how similar mashed potatoes look to ice cream when it’s scooped out? You can use that to your advantage by making the kids think that you’re serving dessert for lunch!

All you need is a box of instant mashed potatoes, a jar of gravy, and a few cherry tomatoes to add on top.

Edible marbles.

All you have to do is get yourself some colorful gum-balls that look like marbles and plant them in random places. When the kids are around, pretend like you randomly found one and then start chewing on it.

You can do the same with candies that look like rocks!

Oreos with a twist.

All you have to do is grab a few Oreos and swap the fillings out for some white toothpaste. The kids will be in for a surprise when they sneak into the cookie jar!

Got rainbow milk?

Speaking of cookies, kids just can’t resist a glass of milk to go along with the snack! For this prank, all you need are a few drops of food coloring to add to the milk carton (the more you add, the darker the color will be).

Invasion of the bugs.

Get yourself a few toy insects and plant them somewhere you're sure the kids will go. If you're feeling a bit bold, try putting one or two in their beds.

The “grilled cheese sandwich”.

Are your grandkids big fans of grilled cheese? Give them a surprise by swapping them out for toasted pound cake slices and orange butter cream frosting!

All you have to do is take two slices of Entenmann’s pound cake and toast them until they’re golden brown. Then, add a few drops of orange food coloring to your buttercream frosting to make it look like melted cheese. Spread the mixture across the toasted cakes, make the sandwich, and you’re good to go!

Leafy potato chips.

All you have to do is empty out the chip bag after opening it from the bottom, fill it with a healthier snack of your choice (such as kale chips), and glue the bottom back together. Make sure to leave some air in the bag so it looks brand new!

Eyes everywhere.

Get yourself a bag of googly eyes and attach a pair of them to everything in the refrigerator. The kids will definitely be freaked out!

Invisible lead pencils.

Coat the tips of all their pencils with clear nail polish so that they don’t work. It'll be a while before they can get those utensils to write!

Trouble at school.

If you want to up your pranking game, pretend you got a call from your kid's teacher complaining about their bad behavior at school. The look on their face will be priceless!

No more TV time.

Use a piece of tape to cover your remote sensor. Then try your best not to giggle when the kids keep struggling to turn on the television.
