Halle Berry Credits Bone Broth Recipe for Her Ever-Youthful Look

It’s little wonder that no one believes Halle Berry’s age. The Academy Award-winning actress has always looked so youthful and vibrant throughout her entire career. But the star is 52 years old, so she unsurprisingly gets asked a lot about how she keeps swimming in a fountain of youth. In a recent interview, she gave a pretty fascinating answer.

When the entertainment website Extra asked Berry what her biggest beauty secret is, she revealed that bone broth is key to her glowing look. While bone broth — which is made from animal bones and connective tissue — has been quietly growing in popularity on grocery store shelves in recent years, Berry has a much more hands-on approach with her broth.

“You can make it,” she said. “You can go to the butcher and get all the bones they’re going to throw away and he’ll give them to you for free. Take the bones, boil them up for 24 hours, and you drink the broth. It’s so full of collagen that it’s crazy.”

While many store-bought bone broths also boast health benefits — some even contain healing amino acids that can help support a healthy gut — we’re pretty impressed by Berry’s homemade method. That said, we’re impressed by a lot of things that Halle Berry does to support her health and youthfulness.

One look at Halle Berry’s Instagram will show you a wide variety of good fitness habits and healthy eating strategies that she’s picked up over the years. You might have heard that she’s a big proponent of the “keto lifestyle,” as she revealed in an interview with People magazine earlier this year.

“I don’t really eat pasta, anything with sugar, it’s very much meat-based,” she said. “I eat meat, I enjoy chicken and beef and a lot of vegetables.”

We’re sure bone broth fits perfectly into a diet like that! On top of a healthy diet, Berry also works out a ton, with a wide variety of different routines and exercises like kickboxing. Recently, she generously offered us all a tip on her Instagram page for staying focused on our own fitness and health goals.

She wrote, “Find images of people who embody what you visualize yourself looking like, as well as phrases, slogans, or mantras that inspire you. Then, find places to post them around the house. I like to put mine up in the bathroom, kitchen and my home gym. Seeing these gentle reminders throughout the day really does help!”
