Bindi Irwin Honors Late Dad’s 55th Birthday in the Sweetest Way
We all remember Steve Irwin for his unending knowledge of nature and vibrant TV personality. And today, on what would have been his 55th birthday, daughter Bindi made sure to show her love for the beloved “Crocodile Hunter.”
The 18-year-old Dancing With the Stars winner posted a throwback picture to her Instagram of a smiling Steve with a yellow and white parrot. She captioned the photo: “Always in our hearts.”
The Australian wildlife expert died from a stingray injury while filming a documentary about the sea creatures in September 2006. On the 10th anniversary of his death, Bindi also took to Instagram to pay tribute her father, stating “You’ll be my hero for my entire existence.”
Bindi and her brother Robert have carried on their father’s passion for wildlife conservation. From 2007 to 2008, Bindi starred as presenter of a 26-part nature documentary called Bindi the Jungle Girl. And earlier this month, 13-year-old Robert appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with tons of exotic animals in tow, including snakes, sloths and more!
In honor of Steve’s lifetime achievements, the family will host a Steve Irwin Gala in L.A. on May 13th to raise money for their Australian Zoo Wildlife Warriors Foundation.
We miss you Steve!
