Watch Olympian Dad Michael Phelps Play Swimming Coach to Too-Cute Baby Son
Like father, like son! Young Boomer Phelps–the 6-month old son of Olympic superstar swimmer Michael Phelps–took an adorable lesson in the pool this week, and it was the stuff that father-son memories are made of, as this cute video shows.
In the cute clip, which Phelps posted to Facebook Live on Wednesday, the excited Olympian explains that his son is going back to Daddy’s roots.

“Boomer is getting a little swim lesson while we’re at home in Baltimore right now,” Phelps said proudly. “This is the pool I used to train in way back in the day, the pool I learned to swim in, and now Boomer is learning here too.”
Just wait until you hear Dad’s awesome nickname for young Boomer; it’s even cuter than his real name! And we just love the way the baby clings to Dad’s beard for dear life.
The funniest part? Boomer seems so content in the water that he actually falls asleep.
“I guess he does really go to a happy place, just like Daddy, when he’s in the pool!” Phelps can be heard joking.
Hey, if little Boom-Boom really does become a superstar athlete, at least we can all say we remember when it all started!
