Selma Blair Called Out for Gray Roots in Pic, So She Added Her Own Caption

Selma Blair has gray hair. And she’s not afraid to say it.

The 44-year-old actress, like many women her age, sported graying roots while out and about shopping. However, unlike many women, her picture was taken by paparazzi, who zoomed in on said gray roots for a photo to show it in detail in the pages of a British tabloid. So, in other words, Selma was basically outed for having gray hair.

But Selma not only took the pic in stride but embraced it as she took to Instagram to post that very same photo of herself—this time, with her own commentary on it in the caption. And good news, not only is it really real, it’s really funny.

In the caption, she wrote, “Happy Monday. Things to do: turn off Google alert. Stop eating four cupcakes a day. Ask The Daily Mail if they could possibly start using filters. Wear exquisite hats! I think I have a fantasy I will grow my hair gloriously grey. But it doesn’t seem a real option. Thanks to this thoughtful paparazzi dude who has given me such a warm and fuzzy feeling. #ohitstuesday.”

We love how Selma is able to both poke fun at herself and celebrity culture that emphasizes youth over all else in one sitting. There’s nothing that proves confidence is possible at any age more than that! Furthermore, we also love how she has no qualms about sharing photos that might not be seen as “flattering” by the masses. After all, it’s her hair, so she has just as much right to share it—and comment on it—as anyone else does.
