Read on for more on salmon sushi bake and a TikTok recipe that will become a household favorite!

What is salmon sushi bake?

This dish takes ingredients used in a salmon sushi roll, such as the fish, rice and sriracha mayonnaise, and combines them into a casserole. Not only is this bake easy to whip up but it’s packed with flavor that your dinner crowd will love. Because of this, videos showcasing home chefs preparing sushi salmon bake recipes are racking up millions of views on TikTok.

Surprise ingredient for an extra filling sushi bake

Although salmon is the star of this casserole, another protein is often used as well: imitation crab (also called crab sticks). This seafood product contains a fraction of actual crab meat as the remaining ingredients can include other kinds of fish, eggs, flour and cornstarch. The texture is solid yet easy to flake apart for a dish like salmon sushi bake. Including crab sticks in this casserole is good if you’re looking to make it heartier without paying more for additional salmon fillets. Even better, the crab will absorb the tangy and spiced flavors from the ingredients to create an appetite-satisfying dinner main.
