Recharge After Working Out With This Protein-Packed Honey Chocolate Recovery Smoothie
This delicious mixture of peanut butter, banana, chocolate protein powder, and honey is a great choice for a fast and nutritious breakfast. It’s also an excellent way to recharge after hitting the gym! You can make the recipe even more palate-pleasing by going with a honey varietal, which is a type of honey that’s been made with the nectar of one specific flower.
There are over 300 types of honey varietals available in the United States, according to the the National Honey Board, and they all range in flavor depending on the blossom and time of year they were pollinated. For example, blueberry honey’s aroma has a hint of lemon and the flavor has a slightly buttery finish. Other popular varietals you can find at your organic grocery store include wildflower, clover, and orange blossom honey. If you’re looking for a milder flavor, you’ll want to pick a lighter, more translucent honey versus the darker, stronger options. Regardless of which type you prefer, it’s sure to taste amazing in this sweet and simple smoothie without overpowering the other yummy ingredients.
