The 8 Most Powerful Duets of 2015

At the Country Music Awards, Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton tore down the house with not one, but TWO, performances. First, they sang the classic country song "Tennessee Whiskey."

Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban teamed up to sing "All I Ask of You" for his new album Stages. And during a special that aired on PBS, Clarkson joined the balladeer on stage--to the delight of the audience.

Performers don't have to be famous to make a big impact. These two kids--Canadian Jeffrey Li, 10, and Celine Tam, a 7-year-old from Hong Kong--were on a Chinese talent show. Their song of choice? Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up." The audience clearly wasn't expecting these little kids to have such powerful pipes!

Sometimes what makes a performance memorable is not the song itself, but the emotion it captures. In the case of Diana Ross and her daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, it was a memorable mother-daughter hug and shared recollections. And enough of a snippet of "Lady Sings the Blues" to convince us that Ellis Ross, who stars in Black-ish, inherited her mom's voice.

Nashville was the scene of another family affair this past summer. On tour, Tim McGraw asked his 18-year-old daughter, Grace, to join him onstage. The daddy-daughter duo performed "Here Tonight."

Celine Dion lent her lovely voice to Michael Bube's Christmas special in December when the duo teamed up to sing the John Lennon classic "Happy Christmas."

"I'm Gonna Love You Through It" by Martina McBride never got such an emotional rendition. At a family party, a little girl named McKenna sang it to her mom who has lymphoma. Someone uploaded the video to Ellentube, Ellen DeGeneres' YouTube channel, and it made viral history. Ellen then invited the mother and daughter to her show, and her mom was surprised all over again when McKenna was joined by Martina McBride. (Their performance starts 2:14 in.)
