Pizza Restaurant ‘Punishes’ Woman for Ordering Weird Topping

View gallery

You would think a pizza delivery place just wouldn’t care what you want on your pie. But apparently, some places impose their elevated tastes on everyone else. At least that is what happened to Twitter user, Ali.

Ali, a college student, had gotten hungry and ordered a pizza from an on-campus restaurant. Along with the cheese and mushrooms (from what we can tell on the picture she posted with her tweet), she decided on some pineapple, too. Now it’s true that pineapple is one of those toppings people love or hate. And apparently, this pizza place hated it.

Instead of the pineapple, Ali got back $5 and a note scrawled onto the inside of the pizza box. “Couldn’t bring myself to put pineapple on it. That’s gross. Sorry.”

The college student promptly tweeted out the image, which then went viral. People weighed in on the merits of pineapple (many strong reactions, for and against). As for Ali, she told a British newspaper: “I am pretty surprised it’s gotten so much attention. I think the only thing I’d say is that the whole thing was funny but next time I’d rather just have the pizza I ordered.”
