The ‘Umbrella Academy’ Season 4 Trailer Is Here! Learn All About the Plot, Release Date and More

Members of the Umbrella Academy rejoice, because Netflix just released the trailer for the show’s fourth season, and it is just as flamboyant, fun and family-oriented as we had hoped. To learn more about the show’s plot, when Umbrella Academy season 4 is set to release and which A-list stars are scheduled to make an appearance in the show’s final season, keep reading.

What is ‘The Umbrella Academy’ about?

The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix original that first aired back in 2019. It follows a group of kids who were magically born and then adopted by a lonely billionaire. As they got older though, the magically gifted Hargreeves siblings grew apart. But when fate brings them back together, the family comes to realize that sometimes magic isn’t everything —family is.

The Umbrella Academy has been nominated for seven Primetime Emmys, is based on a comic book series, has four planned series in total and is available for streaming on Netflix.

“I think there’s going to definitely be some things that you already love,” star Tom Hopper said in January 2024. “These siblings, I feel like one big reason that the show’s become a hit, is because people have fallen in love with the siblings, and their relationship with each other and how fun that is And there’s bucket loads of that so that you won’t be disappointed at,” he said. “There is an ending, which I believe is a complete ending. I don’t think fans will be disappointed with how it ends.”

All about ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 4

Much like the show’s previous seasons, the fourth and final season will follow the Hargreeves siblings as they try and use their magical powers to save the world one last time. However, this time might be a little more difficult than before because of the sibling’s unfortunate (no spoilers) end in season 3.

Umbrella Academy season 4 will have six episodes total, entitled: “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want,” “Jean and Gene,” “The Squid and the Girl,” “The Cleanse,” “Six Years, Five Months, and Two Days” and “End of the Beginning.”

All of these episodes will be available for streaming on August 8, 2024, with the show’s main stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, David Castañeda and Ritu Arya set to appear.

Who is joining the ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 4 cast?

Joining the Umbrella Academy cast in season four are none other than Nick Offerman (who will play Dr. Gene Thibedeau), Megan Mullally (who is set to play Dr. Jean Thibedeau) and David Cross (who will portray Sy Grossman). All three of these actors can be seen in the trailer, but it still remains unclear how their roles will impact that story. And the cast members certainly aren’t letting anything slip.

None of them have done any press since being added to the cast list, and only Cross has posted on social media about it, writing, “Hello: february 15, 2019. goodbye: august 8, 2024 🖤☂️ The final season of The Umbrella Academy is coming… only on Netflix”

Fans of the show do believe the Thibedeau family in particular, though, will help viewers figure out how the original Ben Hargreeves died since Jean Thibedeau says, “That tentacle boy [Ben] is the key to understanding all the timelines” in the trailer.

None of this will be confirmed until the final season airs at the beginning of August. Happy watching!
