‘Towards Zero’ Miniseries: Everything We Know About the New Agatha Christie TV Adaptation
The classic mystery is finally getting a TV adaptation—here’s what to know
Agatha Christie fans unite because another one of the beloved mystery author’s novels is being turned into a miniseries. That’s right, the 1944 page-turning tale Towards Zero is coming to the silver screen. Below, we have gathered everything you need to know about the adaptation, including details on the cast and when you can expect to stream it. Read on for all the mysterious details.
What is ‘Towards Zero’ about?
Towards Zero is a thrilling murder mystery set in the English countryside. The plot follows Superintendent Battle and Inspector Leach as they try to investigate the death of an elderly widow who just so happens to have connections to a wrongly accused thief, a romantically involved tennis player and more. The novel itself was a dramatic shift from Christie’s other works as it didn’t feature her beloved detectives, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
The novel was published way back in 1944, and the 2025 miniseries is the first time it has been adapted for the screen.

“It has been an honor to get under the bonnet of Towards Zero, one of Christie’s most psychological novels, and find a way to tell this incredible story in a grounded, exciting way for today’s audiences,” director Sam Yates told the BBC. “I think it has elements of noir in that we are looking at morally questionable characters and take a journey into the darkness of the human heart.
“There’s a compelling central love triangle and an exploration of desire, love and hate. I think this story is also unique for having a younger cast of characters.”
Meet the cast of ‘Towards Zero’
Since the adaptation is so highly sought after, it makes total sense that the miniseries would have an A-list cast.
Jackie Clune, Grace Doherty, Jack Farthing, Khalil Gharbia, Adam Hugill, Anjelica Huston, Ella Lily Hyland, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Mimi Keene, Clarke Peters, Matthew Rhys and Anjana Vasan are all confirmed to have leading roles in the series—and only time will tell who amongst them will live or die.
“One likes a success, and I think it’s nice when people like something that’s smart, witty and classic,” said Huston, known for her work as Morticia Addams in The Addams Family. “Agatha Christie is symbolic of that. She was writing at a time when women weren’t really at the forefront. Her observations and involvement with her characters is very succinct. It’s no wonder she has such a following.”

Ironically, though, Huston also said that she doesn’t think she’d “survive for longer than 5 minutes” in a Christie novel. Could that be a foreshadowing of her character Lady Tressilian’s fate?
“It was a lot of fun to play Lady Tressilian; she runs the whole place from her roost, her bed, which is a very nice way to act. I basically went onto set and rolled into bed every day! It was the opposite of my usual function,” the actress told the BBC. “Lady Tressilian is running the show the way a man would—or at least, she’s attempting to. She’s trying to make everyone understand that she’s in charge. That’s quite unusual for a woman of that time.”
When can you watch ‘Towards Zero’?

Towards Zero will be available to stream on BritBox starting Wednesday, April 16, 2025. It’s sure to have you on the edge of your seat, needing a good binge to know what happens next.
