Meet the Real-Life Partners of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Cast—From Sweethearts to Spouses
Their love lives are messy on-screen, but sweet and surprising behind the scenes. See who’s with who!
Romance isn’t just for summers at the beach — it’s everywhere behind the scenes, too. Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) might be involved in a messy love triangle on-screen, but in real life, the stars of The Summer I Turned Pretty are devoted to their significant others.
As we await season 3 and for Belly to make her decision between Conrad and Jeremiah, we’re exploring the real-life relationships of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Catch up with the couples and see who your favorite stars are dating.
Lola Tung

Lola Tung, who portrays Isabelle “Belly” Conklin, is apparently single in real life.
Christopher Briney and Isabel Machado

This sweet pair met while in college together! Christopher Briney, who portrays Conrad Fisher, and his girlfriend, Isabel Machado, first met while attending Pace University. Both Briney and Machado graduated with a BFA in Acting for Film, TV, Voiceover and Commercial.
“We were friends first,” Briney said. “We went to college together and we lived together. We knew that we could do it.”
The duo began dating in 2021, a year after graduating from college, and they’ve been the perfect pair ever since. Machado is often supporting Briney on red carpets and at premieres as he takes on his first major role in The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Gavin Casalegno and Cheyanne King Casalegno

It’s all love for the newlyweds! Gavin Casalegno, who stars as Jeremiah Fisher, recently tied the knot with his wife Cheyanne King Casalegno. Although the couple didn’t confirm their relationship until they posted their wedding photos on November 12, 2024, it seems they began dating sometime in the spring of 2023.
While the actor is posing alongside his co-stars and attending premieres, his wife is helping to save lives as a registered nurse. Casalegno has opened up in the past about his intentions with dating and how he prefers to keep his love life private, unlike his character who is very open with his relationship status.
“Being an adult, I’ve learned what it means to just mature a little bit in the dating space. You’re dating to marry, you’re not dating to just date,” Casalegno said. “I think that gets lost a lot of times in younger generations. I really try to be intentional with everything that I do as far as spending my time and gift giving and flirting and all these things.”
Sean Kaufman and Minnie Mills (Rumored)

Although this relationship isn’t exactly confirmed, there is quite a bit of evidence that points towards love. Sean Kaufman, who plays Steven Conklin, and Minnie Mills, who starred as his on-screen girlfriend, Shayla, are seemingly an item.
Fans began to speculate Kaufman and Mills were in a relationship after she shared a sweet birthday tribute for the actor on Instagram in 2022. The photo carousel featured some romantic-looking photos that got people wondering.
“Happiest of birthdays to my best friend <3 thank you for always making me smile,” Mills wrote.
Although some speculated a breakup, Kaufman recently shared photos with Mills, as well as Briney and his girlfriend, from what seemed like a couples vacation in Cancún.
Jackie Chung and Louis Ozawa

Jackie Chung might portray a newly single mom on The Summer I Turned Pretty, but her real-life counterpart, Jackie Chung, is happily married. Chung met her husband, actor Louis Ozawa, while filming a graduate short film at New York University.
“Jackie and I met at the call back,” Ozawa said. “They paired the male leads with the female leads. It was kind of a bizarre romantic comedy.”
It’s not known when they wed, but Chung and Ozawa have welcomed two children together, as well as an honorary firstborn, their dog Atticus.
Rachel Blanchard and Jeremy Turner

Rachel Blanchard, who stars as Susannah “Beck” Fisher, is married to composer Jeremy Turner. Not much else is known about their relationship.
