Melrose Place had all of the drama, scandal and romance you could hope for in a ‘90s drama series and that seemed to extend off-screen into the lives of the cast members as well. From multiple marriages to romances between co-stars, check out the love lives of the Melrose Place stars!

Heather Locklear and Tommy Lee

Melrose Place star Heather Locklear, who portrays Amanda Woodward, was previously married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. The former couple met while at an REO Speedwagon concert, where Lee made the first move.

According to an interview with Lee, the drummer took Locklear’s hand and said, “Hi, I’m Tommy, nice to touch you.” Lee later got the actress’ phone number from his accountant’s brother, but he almost blew it during their first real conversation. Lee accidentally confused Locklear with Heather Thomas, but it seems they figured it out.

Following a whirlwind engagement, Locklear and Lee tied the knot on May 10, 1986, and became one of the most high-profile couples of the time. Though an unlikely pair, Locklear and Lee seemed to be a good match. However, in 1993, they divorced due to Lee’s infidelity. The two are still very good friends to this day.

Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora

It seems that Locklear had a soft spot for rockstars as her second husband, Richie Sambora, was a founding member of Bon Jovi. Locklear and Sambora met in 1994 through mutual friends, while Locklear was on a PR trip for Melrose Place. After maintaining a long-distance relationship for seven months, the couple got engaged and married on December 17, 1994.

The two welcomed their daughter, Ava Sambora, on October 4, 1997. They remained together for nearly another decade before splitting up in 2006. Although they officially divorced in 2007, they remained friends and have reunited on various occasions to support their daughter.

Shue met his second wife, Amy Robach, a little over a year after divorcing his first. The couple first met at a book party in April 2009. After a whirlwind romance, Shue and Robach got engaged in September of that year and in February 2010, the two walked down the aisle. Although they didn’t have children together, they raised children from their previous marriages — Shue’s three sons and Robach’s two daughters, Ava and Annie.

The couple remained together until 2022 when it was reported that they split and Robach was moving on with her Good Morning America co-host, T.J. Holmes.

Courtney Thorne-Smith and Andrew Conrad

Courtney Thorne-Smith, who portrayed Alison Parker on the drama series, had a short-lived marriage with Andrew Conrad. The two wed in 2000 in what Thorne-Smith described as an impulsive ceremony while on a Hawaiian vacation. However, in January 2001 the couple decided to separate.

Although Thomas Calabro’s character, Michael Mancini, had a messy love life, Calabro had a 12-year union with Elizabeth Pryor. The pair exchanged vows in 1993 after a year of dating. Together, Calabro and Pryor welcomed three kids — sons Conner in 1995, Augie in 1996 and Luca in 1999. However, in 2005, the couple decided to split up.

In 2017, the 54-year-old actress married her current husband, Thomas Doig, in a wedding at a Washington winery. The couple first met back in 2014 after Bissett’s house went up in flames and she had to move to a new complex. Doig’s colleague happened to live in that same complex and set the two up.

We got set up on a blind date,” Doig said. “One of my old colleagues lived in the same complex Josie was put in after the house fire. So, the silver lining is always there.” Bissett added, “If the house fire hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have met you.”
