What to know about ‘Owning Manhattan’ Season 2

Netflix officially announced Owning Manhattan Season 2 in August 2024, just a month after Season 1 premiered and quickly landed in Netflix’s Top 10 list.

“We are thrilled with the news that our partners and friends at Netflix are moving forward with a Season 2 of Owning Manhattan,” Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, the series executive producers and co-founders of World of Wonder Productions, told Variety in a statement at the time. “Ryan Serhant and the entire cast and production team put their souls into making an unforgettable series that combines compelling business, extraordinary production values and endless heart.”

Ryan Serhant led the drama in Owning Manhattan Season 1 by pushing his agents to compete for luxury property listings in New York City. This caused a lot of commotion between cast members, most likely making it one of the reasons the show did so well.

“To be honest, it’s overwhelming,” Serhant told Tudum by Netflix. “Expectations were so high for the fans, and I knew we were going to give them something unexpected. Owning Manhattan is so original, and unlike any other show on the air, and to see people fall in love with it on such a global scale is so insane.”

Serhant is 40 years old and has been married to his wife, Emilia Bechrakis, since 2016. He often talks about their relationship on Owning Manhattan. Prior to that show, he was on Million Dollar Listing New York and Sell It Like Serhant. He is believed to have closed over $10 billion in real estate sales.

Who’s returning for Season 2 of ‘Owning Manhattan’?

The Owning Manhattan Season 2 cast is expected to include Ryan Serhant, Genesis Suero, Chloe Tucker Caine, Jess Taylor, Tricia Lee and more of your Season 1 favorites.

“I’m giving everyone a heads up to invest in a couch with a seatbelt. Turbulence is coming,” Serhant teased to Tudum. “Remember how you felt in the last few minutes of the surprise Season 1 finale? That’s what you’ll feel for the entirety of Season 2.

“Tensions are high. Competition is fierce. Inventory is low everywhere, which means there are not enough homes for our buyers, let alone our agents. So it’s all-out real estate warfare right now, with a lot of pressure on me as CEO to lead us in the right direction.”

At the end of Season 1, fans will remember that Serhat Jonathan Normolle, after learning that he was badmouthing his coworkers on the company’s podcast, The Owning Manhattan Podcast, which harmed a showing for a $10 million property.

However, Normolle claimed that he had planned the firing, telling Daily Mail, “I had a plan because I was under contract with Ryan and all the sponsorships. The only way I could get out of those contracts was if I got Ryan mad enough for him to fire me. ‘And the only way I could do that is by saying all these things like ‘Ryan had done nothing when he was my age, whereas I have been on Forbes under 30. ‘I made my first $100 million in my first year in real estate. I was on the cover of Downtown Magazine, I was Rookie of the Year and I won most influential broker at Broker of the Year Awards.’”

“I went in on Ryan with all these things, and he got upset enough to fire me on TV and instantly, these contracts were completely void.”

It is unclear if Normolle will make an appearance in season 2.
