What to know about the ‘Count my Lies’ TV show

On April 16, Deadline confirmed Hulu’s Count My Lies TV adaptation is in development, with Lindsay Lohan playing Violet Lockhart, a wealthy NYC mother who hires a suspiciously charming nanny.

The show is being developed by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the acclaimed duo behind This Is Us, which ran from 2016 to 2022 and starred Chrissy Metz and Mandy Moore, adding even more credibility to Hulu’s latest thriller drama.

I’m freaking out,” Stava, the author, wrote on Instagram. “My heart is pounding, hands are shaking as I type this—not only did @20thcenturystudios option Count My Lies for a series in development with @hulu, written by the brilliant @iaptaker and @bergernight, but the wildly talented, gorgeous, fetchest of fetch @lindsaylohan is set to STAR! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I am so grateful.”

As of publication, Lohan has not commented on the casting announcement, but she did collaborate with Deadline on their Instagram post highlighting the news.

“So a few years ago, my kids were really little. We had this routine of going to the same park at the same time every day. And one day, there was a woman there who I’d never seen before. She also had two kids,” Stava told Good Morning America about the plot. “We naturally got to chatting and we hit it off instantly in the way that you hope to make friends as an adult, but really don’t often do. And so we excitedly exchanged numbers and said that we would get together again. But as we left, she walked out one gate and I walked out the other, [and] I had this sudden chilling thought, ‘What if the reason we got along so well is because she already knew things about me? What if it wasn’t a chance encounter? And what if she engineered the meeting?’ And I thought it would be such a fun story and I ran away with it.”

Count My Lies is the author’s first novel. It was named A Good Morning America Book Club pick and has over 15,000 reviews on Goodreads

When will ‘Count My Lies’ be released?

While Hulu has not yet announced an official release date for Count My Lies, fans are eagerly awaiting Lohan’s small screen debut—and the suspenseful twists the thriller promises to deliver.
