Kate Winslet, the iconic British actress, has for decades graced the silver screen with her extraordinary talent and enthralling movies. On March 3rd, she will be starring in the 6-episode limited series, The Regime, premiering on HBO and Max.

The Regime is a dark comedy that tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to fall apart. Along with Winslet, lining up the cast are Belgian Rust and Bone heartthrob Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant.

Born in 1975 in Reading, England, Winslet began her acting career at an early age. At 11 she did her first commercial for a kids’ cereal. Her big break came at age 17, when she was cast as an obsessive adolescent in Heavenly Creatures (1994). The film, based on the true story of two girls who commit a brutal murder, received modest distribution but was roundly praised by critics. Since that film, Winslet has become one of the most acclaimed and versatile actresses in the industry.
