#TGIF: 3 Feel-Good Stories Guaranteed to Make You Smile This Easter Weekend
In the midst of Easter weekend celebrations, taking a moment to stop and enjoy some cheerful content is key. Plus, we could all use some positive news to end the week on a good note. Take a look at these three inspiring stories in the third-edition of our weekly âFeel Good Friday Roundupâ series.Â
1. Teacher Recuses Student Who Was Choking
Teachers deserve much appreciation for ensuring the safety of all of their students. This sentiment is especially true for NJ third grade teacher JaNeice Jenkins, who recently saved a student in her classroom who was choking on a water bottle cap.
âI saw he needed help and I just sprung into action to help him. He couldnât breathe, his face was pretty pale and he had a look of desperation on his face,â the East Orange Community Charter School teacher said to NJ Advance Media.
Using the CPR and basic first aid training she learned as a preschool teacher, Jenkins performed the Heimlich maneuver on the student to clear his airway.
âOnce he was safe, I got him to the nurse and I felt 100 percent better,â she added. âThen my emotions got the best of me in hindsight thinking of what couldâve happened. Thank God, I was able to do what I did. This is the first time I ever did the [Heimlich maneuver] for real. Iâm glad it worked.â
2. A Tired Pup Gets a Much-Needed Lift
Taking an outdoor stroll with your dog is a fun activity, except when they get tired and donât feel like walking anymore. However, youâre in luck if thereâs a good Samaritan nearby to give your pup a much-needed lift.
In this recent clip posted on the Todayâs Show Instagram, a dog owner got a helping hand from a neighbor who offered to take the fatigued pet home in his garden cart. (This adorable moment is sure to make you say âAww!â)
3. Robin Roberts Celebrates 20 Years At GMA By Helping This Woman Accomplish Her âSecond Actâ
This Thursday, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts celebrated her 20 year anniversary at the top-rated ABC morning show.
In honor of the occasion and the release of her new book Brighter By The Day, Roberts surprised devoted fan Nancy Crawford, 56, and invited her to do a test read on the GMA set.
