Zoë Robins on what to expect from ‘The Wheel of Time’ season 3
In The Wheel of Time TV series, like the book series it was inspired by Robins plays Nynaeve al’Meara, a village leader from the Two Rivers who slowly learns that she has more power and bravery than she thought.
“In season one, she learns that she has immense power and is pulled from her idyllic life of the Two Rivers, which is all she’s known, and thrust into this world,” Robins told First for Women of Nynaeve’s journey. “She’s meeting all these people from various walks of life, she’s taken completely out of her comfort zone throughout the seasons and we see her reconcile with the power that she has. She didn’t ask for it. She didn’t want it, but it’s something that she has to learn to accept about herself. That’s where we find her in season 2, where she is at a point now where she can’t run from who she is.”

“We see a lot of her journey of self-acceptance, which is really important and integral. But we also see her opening up again to different people and relationships. She now has quite a strong friendship with Elayne Trakand [Ceara Coveney], which has come as a total surprise to her, but their friendship is really important and integral to both characters’ journeys.”
Aside from Nynaeve, Robins also shared that season 3 of The Wheel of Time is going to be a lot “bolder and bigger.”
“The world continues to grow and expand, and we meet a lot of new characters,” the actress continued. “Fans of the show will see their favorite characters in quite different lights. I think there’s more maturity and depth to many of them. They’ve gone through a lot, especially in season 2 and way back in season 1, and it’s an exciting season. I hope people love it.”
Zoë Robins opens up about being a woman of color in the film industry
As a young person of color in the film industry, being involved in a huge show like The Wheel of Time is everything for Robins. According to her, it allows young girls to see just how strong and powerful women can be, and even though the show is all about magic and swords, she still believes it reflects our everyday troubles.
“What’s wonderful about The Wheel of Time is that it really does reflect the world back onto us,” the actress said. “Fantasy is very heightened, but oftentimes a lot of the main characters are very relatable. I do feel like audience members can find themselves in the characters, because they’re all going through real-life journeys as well, whether it’s friendship or relationship breakups or finding your footing or being tasked with something that’s way out of your comfort zone. There are a lot of real-life elements that are trickled throughout the seasons.
“A lot of the main characters are overcoming incredible adversity and being pushed to their limits, and they keep going. and I hope that is inspiring to people.”

Regarding her character specifically, Robins noted that being “rageful” is “very liberating because it’s not often that we see that in female characters, and it’s been brilliant for me as an actor.
“I feel so lucky to play someone like Nynaeve, who is so human because of her flaws,” she continued. “She’s so complex, fearful and insecure, but also sometimes arrogant and forthright and speaks her mind. There’s a lot to love about her, and I feel very lucky to play someone as complex, interesting and layered as she is. It’s a real joy.”
Beyond her work in The Wheel of Time, Robins is best known for playing the white Power Ranger in Power Rangers Ninja Steel (2017–2018). She is 32 years old and originally from Wellington, New Zealand.
The Wheel of Time season 3 airs every Thursday at midnight, starting March 13, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video.
