Suri Cruise Looks Like a Mini Katie Holmes in Latest Public Appearance
Though she was thrust into the public eye the day she was born, December 8 marked Suri Cruise’s unofficial coming out party when she helped introduce a performance by Taylor Swift at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in New York City alongside mom, Katie Holmes. The 11-year-old was a natural, smiling wide and keeping her cool in front of thousands.
Although Katie handled the first part of the introduction, saying, “She’s one of our favorite performers and who is it tonight?,” Suri enthusiastically answered, “Taylor Swift!” The pre-teen was decked out for the festive occasion in a black dress decorated with silver stars, and wore a bright red bow in her hair. She then watched as Taylor performed a medley of her hits, including, “Shake It Off,” “…Ready For It?,” “I Don’t Want to Live Forever,” and “Look What You Made Me Do.”
Suri seems happier than ever despite recent reports that her father, Tom Cruise, — who hasn’t seen her in more than four years — is actively avoiding any mention of her on the internet. A former friend named Maryann Carter, who stayed friendly with the actor after he dated her best friend in high school, claims he asked that all pictures of his daughter be kept off a small fan page she runs on Facebook.
“I am going to ask that no one post anything with Suri in the future. She is no longer a part of his life! If you do [post], I will erase,” Maryann wrote. When someone asked whether old photos of the duo were still allowed, she replied, “No photos! His request.” A source previously told Life & Style that “Suri has stopped missing him” five years after her parents’ divorce. “Katie believes her daughter has only distant memories of him… [She’s] more adamant than ever about not talking about him, publicly or privately.”
