Shannen Doherty Just Made a Heart-wrenching Decision While Battling Breast Cancer
UPDATE (3/14) — When Shannen Doherty shared photos of her shaved head last year, we applauded her bravery for being so open about her breast cancer. Now, she’s published something even more revealing.
On her social media, she uploaded an old video that shows actual footage of friend Anne Marie Kortright shaving Doherty’s head. And her reaction proves she’s such a fighter.
“This day….. laughing thru the tears. Thank you @annemkortright for jumping in and doing what needed to be done,” she wrote.

UPDATE (2/27) — More good news for Shannen Doherty. The actress has officially finished her chemotherapy treatment! Doherty has been very open with her fans during her battle with breast cancer, and, again, she got brutally honest with her social media followers.
The 45-year-old posted an old photo from October when she first began chemo with the caption: “#fbf to this morning… not that long ago. Last day of chemo. Exhausted. Now that I’m done with chemo and radiation, the waiting game is here. Waiting for test. Waiting to see if I’m clear or not. Waiting for reconstruction. Waiting. I think when one gets cancer, they are always waiting to a certain extent. To those who know… I’m waiting with you. #cancerslayer 🎀”

UPDATE (1/17) — Finally some happy news for Shannen Doherty. The actress finally finished up an aggressive round of radiation while battling breast cancer–a huge milestone for her. The 45-year-old first began treatment in November, and now that the ordeal is over, she treated herself to a new cut and color at her favorite salon in Beverly Hills.
Soon after, she was spotted out and about running errands with a happy, healthy-looking face and her new ‘do.

UPDATE (1/6) — Shannen Doherty is giving her fans a brand-new, up close and personal look at her battle with breast cancer on Instagram. The actress shared an intimate photo of herself next to her machine for radiation therapy, which she has now named “Maggie.”
In the caption, she paid a touching tribute to Maggie: “I’ve seen Maggie five days a week for what seems like forever. We have a love/hate relationship. I love her because she’s part of the life saving treatment I’m receiving. It’s astounding how far we have come with technology. One day, Maggie will be retired and the cure will be found. Things like immunotherapy are the future but for now…. it’s me and Maggie. I’m seeing her twice tomorrow so that I can wrap this phase up faster.”

The actress’s post about an awkward encounter with a stranger who tried to cancer-shame her has totally reaffirmed just how strong, sassy, and smart she can be.

Despite feeling “tired” after a round of radiation while battling breast cancer, the actress still found herself up for Christmas shopping yesterday. The best part? She decided to bring her loving mom along with her for the fun, as she detailed in a sweet Instagram post.
“I love the holidays,” she wrote.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress opened up about her CT scan, which was needed to do mapping for the radiation plan.
She wrote, “This scared me so much. Not sure why. Was supposed to get it with contrast but the minute they started looking at which vein to use I started crying. Full panic attack.”
But despite the terrifying moment, she was brave enough to leave her followers with an uplifting message.
“I felt sorry for myself for a minute. Then stopped and reminded myself of how lucky I am,” she wrote. “Thank God my new radiation oncologist decided to try without contrast so I would calm down.”

UPDATE (10/26) — Shannen Doherty made the brave choice to share a photo of herself on a hospital bed the day after getting chemo. Doherty has been open about her battle with breast cancer since being diagnosed in February 2015. And the latest snapshot is particularly heartbreaking. But despite it all, the actress still managed to send a message of positivity in her caption.
She wrote, “Hope is possible. Possibility is possible. To my cancer family and everyone suffering… stay courageous.”
