Princess Charlotte Will Start Attending Nursery School in January

Just like her older brother, Prince George, Princess Charlotte is heading to school! With the release of their 2017 Christmas card photo, Kate Middleton and Prince William announced their 2-year-old daughter will attend London’s Willcocks Nursery School starting in January. “Their Royal Highnesses have also announced this morning that Princess Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London from January 2018. The Willcocks Nursery School has said: ‘We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte. We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery in January,'” Kate and William, both 35, said in a statement posted to Instagram on Monday, December 18.

According to People, Charlotte’s new school — which costs $12,000 per year! — is conveniently located close to the family’s Kensington Palace home, next to London’s Royal Albert Hall. “They chose that nursery because they thought it would be an ideal first step for Charlotte’s education and they were impressed by the team who work there,” a source revealed. The choice is another surprise from William and Kate as many fans assumed the couple would send Charlotte to the same school as George, Thomas’s Battersea.

George, 4, began attending London’s Thomas’s Battersea in September. He previously started nursery school at age two-and-a-half (the same age Charlotte is now!) at Westacre Montessori School, which was located near William and Kate’s Amner Hall country home. Unlike George, however, Charlotte will go to preschool full-time starting in the new year.

Earlier this year, William — who is expecting baby No. 3 with Kate next spring! — adorably revealed his son is already sick of going to school full-time. “I just dropped George off and he didn’t want to go,” the Duke told royal fans at an event back in September. Then in December, William sweetly confessed George recently played a sheep in his school’s Nativity play! “I went to my boy’s Nativity play. It was funny,” the royal said. “He was a sheep.” We would have loved to see photos of that!
